Let the Universe Solve Your Problems
Share
The fast pace of the modern world can feel overwhelming at times. And the amount of information, most of it worthless, that we encounter in our daily life further compounds the stress and tediousness. We scroll through headlines that comment on other people’s private lives, on claims about science that are diametrically opposed to other claims about science made in previous years and likely claims that will be made in the future, and all sorts of useless bits of information.
Meanwhile the tasks we spend energy and time on to complete, often for the necessary purpose of making a living, require complicated problem-solving skills, and often lead us on journeys that seem to arrive at a dead end. One of the most frustrating experiences is spending previous time and energy on a goal, only to learn your efforts were ultimately inefficient, or need to be repeated, sometimes multiple times, because of the disorganization of the system you need to work through.
This is the price we pay for modern living, for the conveniences of having the world at your fingertips through the Internet, living in modern dwellings with electricity and mechanical devices ready to serve you, and using vehicles that can move us effortlessly hundreds or thousands of miles in a short period of time compared to ancestors.
In short, life can be very complicated, and it’s easy to feel frustrated because of this.
But there is a way, known by some of us, to deal with life’s complications without losing our sanity, and while keeping our joy. It doesn’t require turning our backs on the modern world or giving up the pursuit of modern progress. It’s a way to massively reduce our stress, while still achieving what needs to be achieved. I will refer to approach here, as simply Letting the Universe Solve My Problems.
This notion is very difficult for the logician to understand, and sometime more difficult to believe. But is a time-tested strategy that absolutely works. It is the way forward for he/she who wants to experience the best of modern life without paying the price of inefficiency and frustration.
We can draw an analogy: The human body is a supremely sophisticated machine that works “in front of us” 24 hours a day. We know without question this machine does tasks we cannot easily understand. We eat, and our digestive system extracts the nutrients and energy it needs, while efficiently disposing of the waste. We sleep while the body repairs itself. We breathe and the lungs collect the oxygen we need to power the interconnected systems with us. It’s easy to forget this, but the human body is a masterpiece of engineering.
Who is the one making these interconnected systems works so well? We are. But we do it without effort. You don’t need to tell your stomach to digest the food. But yet it still happens, day after day after day. This shows us there is an intelligence working behind the scenes.
We need to understand that this same intelligence – the same entity – can solve the daily problems of our lives. You have the power, through observation and belief, to set it to work, in order to take care of the tasks in front if you. You will of course need to “do” the things in your daily life. You will need to get out of bed in the morning, prepare for the day (meditation is of course a highly recommended step in this preparation), and get to work. To an objective observer it would still seem that you are completing all the tasks. But on the inside, in that critical place in your mind where your belief and understanding meets your decision-making, you will understand that the universe is completing, and will in the future complete, the necessary tasks to achieve your goals.
This is the secret you need to believe in, and set your life upon. The same power and intelligence that runs the universe, is within you in its entirety, taking care of the details under the surface, though your eyes don’t see them. Understanding and believing this key principle will activate the power, relieve your stress, and bring your forward to where you need to go.
You can help yourself improve your understanding and efficient use of this principle, by declaring to yourself:
Though I act, I am not the one who is making it happen. The universe makes it happen.
Though I think, I am not the one who solves the problem. The universe solves the problem.
Relieve yourself of the impossible task of solving every puzzle, and propelling every micro-system that you need to progress forward. Your task is to simply see the end-goal happening in your mind, and completing your tasks to the best of your ability while trusting in the universe to take care of the details that are outside of your control. Just as the body works day after day to accomplish its tasks without your witnessing the microprocesses , so will the macro-body – the system that encompasses your daily life, work in the same way, and accomplish the necessary tasks. You need only to understand the principle, believe it, and progress throughout your day trusting in it to work.
There will certainly be times when your belief of this principle is tested or threatened by thoughts of doubt. Don’t let the doubtful thoughts compromise your belief in the principle. Protect it, and bet the success of your life’s goals on in. Even if it fails (which it won’t), the elimination of stress and the joy of simple living would by themselves make this approach to live worthwhile. So try to emotionally be detached from the final result, while still working towards it with the appropriate amount of effort. Your effort in your life should be as much as you can do without losing your joy. Put in the right amount of work so that at the end of the day, you feel satisfied that you did your duty to yourself, but do not work past this point into the realm of frustration or micromanagement of the universe. You can’t make the clock tick anyway, so don’t even try. Just do your part, to the best of your ability, to the limit that your joyfulness, and at that point wrap up the day, and trust in the universe to do its job.
